Anti-racists to oppose Tommy Robinson's 'Put The Christ Back Into Christmas' event
Tommy Robinson, whose real name is Stephen Yaxley-Lennon arrives at Westminster Magistrates' Court, London, November 4, 2025

CAMPAIGN group Stand Up to Racism is organising to oppose fascist Tommy Robinson’s “Put the Christ back into Christmas” event in London tomorrow.

The anti-racist group will be joined by figures from faith communities and singer-songwriter, author and activist Billy Bragg.

Mr Bragg said: “The message of Christmas is one of empathy and goodwill to all.

“Tommy Robinson’s divisive notion of Christianity seeks to push Christ’s teachings to the margins in the name of a belligerent nationalism.”

Robinson, real name Stephen Yaxley-Lennon, is following up on September’s Unite the Kingdom rally with an event promoting far-right Christian nationalism — a move that is already being opposed by the Church of England.

Stand Up To Racism & Care4Calais will be gathering at 1pm at Downing Street to oppose Robinson’s event planned for 2pm at the Trafalgar Square end of Whitehall.

The gathering will be used as a collection point for the Care4Calais “Coats4Calais” winter appeal.

Charlotte Khan, from Care4Calais, said: “At Christmas we celebrate a child born into a family who themselves became refugees.”

Stand Up to Racism co-convener Weyman Bennett said: “Robinson is cynically using the Christmas period to promote his divisive agenda.”
